While 3-d invitations can be a little extravagant (postage costs can exceed $3 a pop!), we love it when they’re tied conceptually to the design or theme – like these message in a bottle save the dates we created last year. The message was tied with a blue ribbon and inserted in the bottle, which was filled with a bit of sand, and mailed in a simple cardboard mailer. So sweet! (P.S. this is a great DIY project!)
