Have you heard of eShakti? The site has adorable Anthropologie style dresses that are customizable (!)…..are you thinking what we’re thinking? If it’s “what a great source for non-boring bridesmaids dresses that flatter all my friends different body types!”, then you’d be correct!!

More details from Eunice and Daniel’s wedding! Eunice embellished her Steve Madden flats with vintage shoe clips found at the Alameda flea market, one of our favorite sources for vintage ephemera in the bay area. She also purchased woodland animal brooches from Poodle Breath for her bridesmaids.

Brand new Kate Spade!
Friday, August 14th, 2009
Everyone’s talking about it, but we simply can’t help but join in the collective swooning over the new Kate Spade collection! While the clothes are stunning on their own, we just love the bold use of color and retro styling captured in these photos.
Take a look at the whole collection here!

The colorful tights paired with bold, graphic pieces; so simple, and yet so genius…

Truly, we would love to look like this every day! Ah, if only…

Oh, Kate – you’ve done it again!
John Patrick Organic
Thursday, January 29th, 2009We’re at the New York International Gift Fair this week and one of our favorite finds has been John Patrick Organic, an ultra-chic organic cotton fashion studio created by designer John Patrick. We love these airy dresses from his Spring collection – how fabulous would these be for to wear to a summer wedding (as a bridesmaid or guest!)?
Love these looks!
John was at the show with his lovely assistant Olivia previewing his gorgeous new beach line, Playa Organic.
Elegant flow-y beach lounge wear organic straw hats, and light striped wool scarves — on display at their booth at the Gift Show. Makes us want to get on a plane to Cabot!
What we love most, though, is John’s passion, ethic, and super-positive attitude — he sources from small cotton growers and is completely dedicated to creating chic, lovely clothes; the details and quality are amazing! We heart him!!!
Topsy Turvy’s Fabulous Hats!
Thursday, December 4th, 2008We always love an excuse to don a smart hat (don’t you wish someone would bring back that trend? We do!). The charming, vintage-inspired chapeaux from Oakland-based Topsy Turvy make us wish that hats were a de rigeur fashion accessory!
This Oh-So-Flirty Cocktail Hat was modeled after a vintage headpiece found at the flea market dating from the 1950’s.
We love this sassy, burlesquey number…
Kim Brown-Dye, the sometime costumier & full-time milliner behind Topsy-Turvy makes a wide range of beautiful hats, with nods to a wide variety of eras and suitable for everything from a swank evening out to an outrageous costume party. She builds each one from scratch using buckram & wire construction which is then covered & trimmed using the finest materials & hand finishing.
The Evelyn – Victorian Top Hat…makes us want to don our riding habits, slap on the side-saddle and ride off into the sunset!
Who wouldn’t want to have an excuse to channel Marie Antoinette?
Leopard print pillbox! So rock-a-billy fabulous!
Leather Bell Hop!
Rhinestone Mini Top Hat! Glittery!
Ah, glittery AND feathered…who can resist? We are positively swooning – if only we could have one of each!
Check out a video on Kim’s studio and her hat-making here!
Dreamy Magical Surrealism + Tim Walker
Thursday, July 31st, 2008We spotted Tim Walker’s Soldier, Soldier, Won’t You Marry Me? spread in British Vogue a while ago and ran across him again on Decor8. We have long loved anything to do with Alice in Wonderland-style dreamy magical surrealism and are in awe of the beautiful dream-like quality of Tim Walker’s photographs. So inspiring!
Love the almost chalky quality of the light and color…

Always fans of a little wink and a nod, we love the wit and quirky humor…
An exhibit of his work is on at Design Museum in London, until September 28th. His book, Tim Walker Pictures, and various other bits and bobs are available through the Design Museum Shop…
